What I Learned From Shahs of Sunset

What I learned from Bravo's hit series based on the lives of Persians living in LA is that I need to freeze my eggs...stat. I am laughing and crying (kidding, sorta) as I type this. Last night, while I was watching my DVR Shah's season finale is that once you hit 27, your ovaries get weaker, so they recommend freezing your eggs if you want to have your own child. Though I'm not 27 yet, this freaked me out. Gigi, the hot headed, knife loving, mother to be stated that even though she hasn't found Mr. Right, she wants to make sure her eggs are preserved because she is 32 and not "settled down". I get her point, because even though she is scary, she wants to be a mom. She stated, "having kids is everything to me". This is obs a priority for her, so she is not waiting around for a man to make her dream come true. I think she is being proactive but I can't help but be anxious. Do I need to think about freezing my eggs? Most of my friends don't have babies, so can we all freeze our eggs together?

I was not prepared for this life crisis when I sat down to watch Shahs from last night. What do you guys think about egg freezing? Leave it to Bravo to insight such huge life questions.

  1. Oh my gosh, I love this show. It's a guilty pleasure of mine to watch this whole, and I usually watch it while I'm at the gym because the drama keeps me interested.

  2. Ah! This scares me. I will be 27 this year. Is this something I need to consider?! Eek!
