Technology Confuses Me-Passionfruit ?

Hi blogger buddies...I have a Passionfruit question! I was looking over "Passionfruit 2.0" today and I am still confused (what else is new). Is swapping ads going to cost money after the "dating" period, even if I don't make any money from it? If any of you can confirm or deny the above statement let me know lol. Thanks for helping my technology confused self out!

    It's true , we'll have to pay 9$ a month or 50$ a year even if we're not making money with passion fruit.

    That's how I understand it. Using passionfruit is going to cost monthly no matter how you use it.
